Archetypal and Mythic Perspectives

To my surprise, James Hillman’s perpective on our Objects of Desire and what they mean, lends validation to some the ideas developed for the Solaesthetic Ethos. If you have time, this video is interesting in many ways and on many levels.

The parts most resonant for the particular concerns of Solaesthetic are; His description of a frame of mind that addresses our actions in the present, in terms of what they mean to our 7 decendent generations; The concept of our purpose in the world as “Homo aestheticus”; And his critique of our cultural beliefs about separation from the world and denial of our interdependence with the world.

Very Interesting.
